PRESENTATION ABSTRACT

The Geology of the Cities of the World series of papers continues to grow with the addition of the Geology of Sacramento, California, United States of America. This publication will be available in late November 2020 and was prepared by the Sacramento chapter of the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG). The group of authors includes geotechnical engineer Jeremy Zorne, PE, GE, who was the primary author for the chapter Geotechnical Investigation Methods, Geotechnical Mitigation, and Foundation Types. Jeremy will provide an overview of the geology in Sacramento and surrounding areas and the associated geotechnical conditions. Jeremy will discuss appropriate geotechnical investigation methods for various geologic conditions and project types and describe typical geotechnical mitigations, from ground improvement to foundation systems. The presentation will include local case histories and conclude with a question/answer period.
