About the webinar:
SEAOCC SE3 is excited to present our first event. During this webinar participants will have an opportunity to discuss a few of the many topics relating to our chaning work environment due to COVID-19.  The discussions will occur via Zoom with the choice of the following 3 topics:
  1. Office Space Changes in a Virtual World
    1. lead by Devon Lumbard (Degenkolb) and Matt Melcher (Lionakis)
  2. Career Growth in a Virtual World
    1. lead by Tim Tsukamoto (Miyamoto)
  3. Office Culture, Engagement, Morale, and Mentorship in a Virtual World
    1. lead by Scott Hooker (Buehler)

When you register, you will be asked which of the three discussions you would like to take part in. The week of the event, you will receive a second email with the link to the zoom meeting you will use to attend the webinar on Aug. 20th at 12pm.

About the Speakers:

 

Devon Lumbard, SE

Devon Lumbard, SE, is a Principal and Office Director of Degenkolb Engineer’s Sacramento office and leads projects in the Healthcare and Forensic Engineering practice areas. Devon joined Degenkolb in 2005 in the Portland office, before transferring to the Bay Area and finally returning closer to home in the Sierra Foothills. In 2018, Devon opened the Sacramento office where today he oversees a staff of approximately 30 with responsibility for project pursuits and the development of engineering staff. Devon holds an M.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of California, San Diego and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from University of California, Davis.

Matt Melcher, SE

As a Structural Engineer and Principal at Lionakis, Matt Melcher has more than 20 years of experience in the design of structural systems for a wide range of building types. Utilizing his technical experience and code knowledge, he has developed solutions for challenging projects for new and existing buildings alike. Matt believes that integrating the design concept of the structure with the architectural features of the building produces efficient and responsive designs. His straightforward approach produces cost effective and value-based solutions.

Tim Tsukamoto, SE

Timothy Tsukamoto, a licensed Structural Engineer and Associate Principal at Miyamoto International, has more than 13 years of design and project management experience, with a special focus on Integrated Lean Project Delivery (ILPD). Since beginning his Lean journey in 2013, Timothy became a dedicated Lean Practitioner passionate about maximizing value through reliable design flow. He is now sought after for his expertise in implementing Lean tools in the design process. Most of his work presently is in the educational, healthcare, commercial and mixed-use sectors.

Scott Hooker, SE, DBIA

As President of Buehler, Scott Hooker oversees the executive management and provides strategic leadership for the firm.  Over his career, Scott has been the Principal Structural Engineer on numerous significant projects that include public buildings, aviation, commercial, seismic renovations, multi-family housing, peer reviews, and plan checks. He has been a technical presenter of multiple SEAOC seminars, and has been a guest speaker at ASCE, CSI, UC Davis, ASHRAE, and the University of the Pacific. In addition, he is a disaster service volunteer for the State of California, former member of the City of Sacramento Design Commission, a current a member of the Board of Directors for Region Business, and an allied member of the AIACV Board of Directors.
